The most basic harness that RAT Wire offers, converting the inputs and outputs from the factory wiring harness to fit a standalone ECU. Sometimes this leads to loss of functionality when the factory ECU communicates with other modules in the car. Some examples of this would be losing Air Conditioning because the AC compressor clutch is electronically controlled and the ECU is told to idle up when the AC button is pressed inside of the car. To avoid this, we can integrate a CAN converter module.

Piggyback ECUs are one of the most cost effective ways to tune your car, by intercepting and adjusting signals coming from the factory ECU. A piggyback harness uses a "man in the middle" method of "tuning" your car by sitting in-between the factory ECU and the engine harness. To change the fuel and spark map of your car, it takes inputs from the factory and "piggybacks" off of them, and modifies outputs from the factory ECU by taking signals from the factory ECU and changing them to fit the custom tune on the piggyback ECU
